Myths About The Driving Test

The test in Malvern is too hard. Should I go somewhere else to take my test?

No. Most people who think that have failed a test there for not stopping at a stop sign, speeding, not being able to park properly, etc. Then they get mad or think that the examiner is mean. They go to another test location and pass. Did they pass because the second test site was easier or because they obeyed all traffic rules and regulations on the second test? Every test location is different. If you drive safely, then you should be able to pass the test no matter where you drive.

My friend told me that if I fail my test or if my permit expires, then I’ll have to wait another 6 months to be eligible for another test.

Wrong. If you’re under 18, then you have to wait 1 week to take another test. Renewing your permit has no effect on your test eligibility.

It’s OK to go over the speed limit just a little on the test.

Quite simply….. NO!

My friend swerved around a bump or small pothole and failed the test. Why?

That bump or small pothole is part of your driving lane. The tires, springs, and shocks on your car are designed to handle the road imperfections. When you swerve around a bump you’re driving outside of your lane and could cause an accident if you hit a vehicle next to you.
